Enough meta is not being shared for Gmail to find your identity.
Issue
Identity is sent along with an email address to recipient email address. For example, you may have seen something like this:
Someone <someone@example.com>
Here, first part which is in bold is identity or name, followed by email address in between braces.
When I sent an email from my hosted email address to my gmail account I received following error:
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address
( es ) failed:
someone@gmail.com
host XXXX.smtp.antispamcloud.com [XX.XX.XX.XX]
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
550 High probability of spam
I reported this situation over to google using the below link: https://support.google.com/mail/contact/msgdelivery
However, the situation turned out to be more simple than I thought.
My hosted email was not
To set up an identity, following are steps for webmail account:
- Open your webmail through
cpanel or url. - If you’re using Roundcube. Go to Settings > Identities.

- In Identities you’ll find
- Display Name : Fill in a name you want to be identified with. (See image below).
- Email: Generally
pre-filled with your domain email address. - Organization: Organization name (can be left blank).
- Reply-To: Fill an email id to which receiver of
email can reply to. Bcc : In case you want a copy ofemail to be sent somewhere.- Signature: This is your email signature appended at the end of every email sent.

- Save the identity. Now you’re ready to send an email.
- If you’re using Horde, then go to Settings > Preferences > Global Preferences > Personal Information. There fill out name and save.
- Or if you’re using Squirrel Mail, then go to Options > Personal Information > Fill out Name and Address Options then submit.
Similarly, you’ll need to fill up your personal information when using client such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Android/iOS email apps or any other email application.
